Life After Sexual Trauma
“I will be known by you as faithful and true. So come back come back, i’ll take you to the start. Come back come back, i’ll take you to your first love. I will remove the names of your lovers. Even the memory of their face will fade away. I will write on you my name forever. I will be known by you as faithful and true.”
The Pearl Project wants to offer women who have been through any degree of sexual trauma a safe place to be known, to be heard, to be seen, and a place to be prayed for and encouraged.
The Pearl: Worthy & Wise is our resource for that.
We understand the precious vulnerability that it requires to even begin to tread on the delicate and tender stories that unfold in this realm. It’s often so difficult to even get to the point of being able to speak of it, let alone seek outside emotional and spiritual support.
We are in the process of developing specific literature to offer women God’s perspective and His truth about your value and your worth in His eyes. We believe that what God has to say about who we are and about the lengths to which He loves us have a tremendous effect on our ability to trust Him in our healing processes.
The nature of sexual trauma in light of our spiritual formation requires an honest look into the problem of evil.
There’s a hard question to be asked. We’ll be deferring at that point to expert wisdom in the study of evil which is termed Theodicy in the context of Theology (the study of the nature of God). The real aim here is to do our best to answer the age-old question of ‘Why would a good God allow the manifestation of evil in the world?’
We happen to have on our team several women who have first-hand experience with the emotional and spiritual effects of sexual trauma who would be honored to sit with you and with your story.
We believe that there is healing to be experienced for you that does not make light of or diminish what you’ve endured. Instead we believe that the healing that is on offer gives enormous weight and merit to your pain while in the same breath, allowing Jesus to be God by allowing Him to be bigger than our fears and more powerful than our afflictions.
At the point at which you are ready, we would love to help you begin the process of bringing Jesus and the Holy Spirit into the place and the memory of that wound so that true healing and restoration can be found.
We believe in a God who is well-acquainted with abuse and suffering, and who is THE Healer. We are in His ever-so gentle hands.
